While we should be celebrating the launch of a brand new season of Fortnite, the developers behind the game have made the shocking decision to remove three game modes from Fortnite, alongside laying off 1000 employees.
This comes as a surprise to many, as by no means is Epic Games struggling, and we're going to run over all we know about when Fortnite Festival will be removed.

Fortnite: When Is Fortnite Festival Being Removed? Answered
Over the last year, Epic Games has raised the prices of V-Bucks and has been reported to pay out tens of millions of dollars to community map creators, and now is negatively impacting over 1000 of their employees, for 'cost-cutting' reasons.
In their quest to save $500 Million, the company, which is behind Unreal Engine, and whose owner, Tim Sweeney, currently has a net worth of over $7 billion, they're also removing three game modes, Fortnite Festival, Rocket Racing and Balistic.
As of April 16th, 2026, Epic Games plans to remove the Fortnite Festival Mode, as it believes that the resources are better allocated elsewhere.
Of the 1000 layoffs, they have reportedly let go of their lead environment artist, who was responsible for the recent Simpsons mini-map and the lead artist behind Jonesy.
It is yet another disgraceful and gutless move from a company that will continue to pay creators millions of dollars each year, alongside community map developers, who are not even employees of Epic.
