Pokémon Legends Z-A is aiming to expand the model that was set by Pokémon Legends: Arceus, and the battle system is certainly getting some upgrades.
With the starter Pokemon being Tepig, Totodile, and Chikorita, it may not be the flashiest group of Pokemon, but they're ones that each have their own strengths.
For Legends: Z-A; there isn't really a conscious choice for the best starter right now, but if we had to recommend one, it has to be Totodile. Water-type Pokemon are usually amongst the safest bets for starters.
