Fortnite Forges New Path In Chapter 2, Season 5

FORTNITE FORGES NEW PATH IN CHAPTER 2, SEASON 5

Fortnite remains one of the most popular games in the world thanks to Epic’s focus on keeping the experience feeling fresh.  Season 4 of Chapter 2 brought Fortnite players an absolutely massive Marvel takeover event that culminated in Iron Man, Thor, and other superheroes defeating the devourer of worlds, Galactus.  That amazing final showdown paved the way for Season 5, which gives players tons of new content to enjoy.  Here’s what’s going on in the latest season of Fortnite.

The Hunt is On

While Season 4 may have been all about Marvel, Season 5 branches out in multiple new directions.  Instead of sticking to comic book characters, Season 5 aims to gather some of the biggest bounty hunters in the world for a fight across Battle Royale Island.  This includes Fortnite canon characters like Mancake, and pop culture icons like the Mandalorian.  Even Kratos from the God of War series has joined the action.  Many more bounty hunters will be added as the season rolls on, with rumors of the Predator, and others dropping by.

I Love Gold!

Fortnite has gotten itself a new in-game currency for players to collect.  Squads will now find gold bars strewn about the map.  They are tucked away in cash registers, treasure chests, couches, safes, and many other spots.  The gold players collect is carried over through the entire season, meaning your tally grows from match to match.  You can use gold to recruit NPCs to help in the battle, buy weapons you can’t find anywhere else, upgrade your firepower, and even discover locations of treasure chests and more.

Missions and Bounties

Looking for the best way to collect that gold?  NPCs are scattered around maps that will offer you multiple ways to get rich quick.  Take on missions that include hunting down specific items, hitting target goals for resources, using a specific weapon, and more.  If you want to take on a task with a bit more challenge, grab a bounty for another real-life player on the map.  Hunt them down, take them out, and pull in a massive amount of gold for your war chest.  Each bounty has a time limit, so you better act quick!

New Weapons

It wouldn’t be a new season in Fortnite without a weapon refresh!  As usual, some of your favorite weapons are sticking around, and others will be vaulted for a future season.  As for the new goodies, you can add to your arsenal, keep an eye out for the fire-spewing Dragon’s Breath Shotgun, which is perfect for burning down other players’ builds.  If you’re lucky, you can also acquire the Mandolorian’s Amban Sniper Rifle.  This bad-boy gives you two modes of fire and even packs in a devastating melee attack for good measure.  Talk to NPCs across the map to try your hand at even more updated weaponry, with other goodies set to launch later in the season.

Fortnite Crew

Chapter 2, Season 5 of Fortnite also ushered in the Fortnite Crew, a brand-new subscription service for the game.  Those who are willing to pony up $12 a month will get full access to the Battle Pass, 1,000 V-Bucks a month, plus skins and accessories that are 100% exclusive to Fortnite Crew.  If you play Fortnite on a regular basis with your friends, something like the Fortnite Crew subscription is a fantastic deal.
