One of these NPCs, Ranni has a rather extensive quest line and completing this will grant you the Moonlight Sword.
How To Obtain The Moonlight Sword In Elden Ring
Ranni The Witch will task you with serving her within Elden Ring, and there's a bunch of side quests players will have to partake in, in order to sang this sword.
Ranni can first be found within the Caria Manor, once you've defeated the optional boss here, you're simply going to head into her tower.
After talking to her and the other NPCs in this area, the quest line begins!
In short, below is all the tasks you're going to have to complete with some optional ones, in order to find the Moonlight Sword.
- (Optional) Talk to Ranni at the Church of Elleh
- Conquer Caria Manor in north Liurnia
- Speak to Ranni in her tower behind Caria Manor
- (Optional) Speak to Blaidd in Siofra River Bank
- (Optional) Speak to Seluvis in Liurnia
- (Optional) Speak to Sellen in Limgrave
- Defeat General Radahn in Caelid
- Obtain the Fingerslayer Blade from Nokron
- Deliver the Blade to Ranni
- Use the teleporter in Renna's Rise
- Pick up and speak to Miniature Ranni
- Defeat Baleful Shadow
- Unlock the chest in the Academy Library
- Head through the Lake of Rot
- Defeat Astel, Naturalborn of the Void
- Ascend to the Moonlight Altar in Liurnia
- Interact with Ranni at the Cathedral of Manus Celes
- Obtain the Moonlight Greatsword
In total, there's around three bosses you have to defeat in order to obtain this sword, which has been in nearly every FromSoftware game that we can remember.
