HOW TO MORI IN DEAD BY DAYLIGHT

How To Mori In Dead By Daylight

May 3, 2022

Though every Killer is unique their goals remain the same. Pick Survivors off one-by-one and sacrifice them to The Entity. Striking a Survivor once puts them into the Injured State. Do it twice, and they enter the Dying State, allowing you to pick them up, carry them to one of many sacrificial hooks, and impale them. Should they struggle on the hook for too long, fail to be saved by an ally, or rescued and hooked a total of 3 times, the sacrifice is complete.

But sometimes killers can use their Memento Mori ability to kill survivors with their own hands, rather than through the traditional sacrificing process. Each killer has a unique Mori they can use, and if you read on we’ll explain how to Mori survivors in Dead By Daylight.

How To Mori Survivors In Dead By Daylight

First of all, players need to purchase a Mori using Bloodpoints within a killer’s Bloodweb. There are three Memento Mori’s you can choose from, which include the following:

  • Cypress Memento Mori – The Killer has the ability to kill the last remaining survivor in the trial when in a dying state.
  • Ivory Memento Mori – The Killer has the ability to kill one survivor in the dying state, who has already been hooked twice.
  • Ebony Memento Mori – The Killer has the ability to kill all survivors in a dying state, as long as they have already been hooked twice.

Next, you need to equip your Mori in your Killer’s loadout before the match starts. Depending on which Mori you equipped (above) will also depend on when you can use your Mori in-game. But in all instances, the survivor will need to be in a dying state. Whilst standing over a dying survivor press the active ability button to perform your killers Memento Mori.

If you’re curious what a Mori looks like, check out the video below for a compilation of all Memento Mori’s in the game

Can You Mori Survivors Without Hooking?

Yes. Well, sort-of. It depends…

Some Dead By Daylight killers do have the ability to use their mori power to kill survivors without having to hook them. Although, it’s only in really specific circumstances. For instance, The Shape killer (Michael Myers) can use Evil Within III combined with the Tombstone Piece or Judith’s Tombstone add-on. The Pig can use Jigsaw’s Baptism, The Executioner can use Rites of Judgement and The Onryo can use Deluge of Fear. Do note, some of these will not count towards achievements.
